The Meraki Art Workshop

The Meraki Art Workshop - 110922

For boys and girls ages 8 to 15. All supplies are provided. The Meraki was founded in New Jersey with the belief that an artist exists in everyone and art exists everywhere - as do people who value handmade, authentic artwork. Join Bernards Township Resident Artist, Meeta Garg, and her team in this fun summer art workshop.
This 5 days session will include completion of four artworks using different techniques of Mixed Media Art.

Wool and paper collage : A wool and paper collage is a creative art form that involves combining two distinct materials, wool and paper, to create a visually appealing composition on a canvas board. This mixed-media technique allows kids to experiment with textures, colors, and shapes, resulting in a unique and tactile artwork.

Mixed media on Wooden panel : Painting on a wooden panel using different mixed media techniques.

Negative space Art : Negative space art, also known as "negative space drawing" or "negative space design," is a creative technique where kids would focus on the space around and between the subject matter, rather than the subject itself. The concept of negative space refers to the area that surrounds the main objects or forms in an artwork. This technique is particularly interesting because it relies on the relationship between the foreground (positive space) and the background (negative space) to create a compelling visual composition. We using acrylic paints and doodling to create this work of art.

Creating your own portrait : This will be an abstract art on paper using mixed media techniques, paints and pens

Kids are requested to bring an apron, snack and water for this session. There’ll be a half an hour break in between these sessions.
